DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Preparation, untreated/sanded floors:
Ensure that the surface is absolutely clean, dry and free from dust, polish and soap residues. Sand the surface to remove dirt and irregularities. Vacuum thoroughly.

  • Prime with one coat of Junckers WB Primer or Junckers SB Primer and leave to dry.
  • Sand with sandpaper grit 150-180 longitudinally to the fibres of the wood.
  • Vacuum sanding dust and wipe off the floor with a cloth well wrung in clean water.
  • Apply one coat of Junckers HP800 Sport and leave to dry for 24 hours.
  • Then sand the surface with sandpaper grit 150-180, clean the floor and proceed as described under “Masking with tape and paint application”.

Preparation, previously sealed floors or new prefinished floorboards:
Trial applications should be conducted on a couple of spots, 2 coats at 4 hours interval. After drying for 24 hours check the spots for adhesion by scraping with the edge of a coin. If the adhesion is functioning and the appearance of the surface is acceptable, the floor can be painted. If the trial application is not satisfactory, the floor has to be sanded to bare wood and relacquered before court marking can be conducted.

  • Wash the floor with Junckers Neutralizer and then sand it thoroughly using sandpaper grit 150-180.
  • Vacuum sanding dust.
  • Proceed as described under “Masking with tape and paint application”.

Masking with tape and paint application:

  • Mask with tape along all lines and areas to be coloured.
  • Use tape with low pull-off strength. We recommend masking tape TESA 4440.
  • To avoid bleeding and to create sharp and durable edges, you must make sure that the tape seals tightly by applying it firmly to the floor.
  • Apply one coat of HP Sport Linemarking in the marked areas.
  • Remove the tape immediately after application and allow the paint to dry for approximately 3-4 hours.
  • Then apply one coat of Junckers HP800 Sport on the full floor area. This protects the court line paint and ensures a uniform friction.

A tip for achieving a sharp colour edge:
Using the right tape is essential for a good result, but if you want extra security, we recommend sealing the edges with HP800 Sport before applying paint.

  • Let the HP800 Sport sealant dry for at least 1 hour.
  • Then apply HP Sport Linemarking.
  • The paint must dry for at least 16 hours before the masking tape can be removed.
